But the concept could theoretically be used to launch other types of artists rather than just singers who cover familiar material. The only success story that I&#039;ve been really happy about has been Susan Boyle. I do think she has a very good voice for classic ballads, and it is good to show that you can sell albums even if you aren&#039;t young and beautiful.</description>

		<description>I think that maybe these competitions are held becuase these are artists have at least some talent, but also they have publicity attached to them, so one hit is enough to gain huge amount of money for the artist, and the record label. 
 The artists do expose themselves maybe to the record labels( although many are actually bad at the business aspect of music) but they can&#039;t expose themselves as well to the public as national telivision can. 
 Also, I thought the Alan Titchmarsh show singing contest winner only got the chance to perform in the Night of the Opera tour.</description>
