SoundCloud today announced it has reached 10 million registered users. The company had an increase of over seven million users since January 2011, and will see one million new members joining in January. Pretty exciting, isn’t it?

Soundcloud

To celebrate the milestone, SoundCloud has created ‘Story Wheel’, a new SoundCloud Labs project that allows anyone to record their own narrative around a series of images to tell a personal story. Co-founders Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss have today launched this new feature by sharing an intimate conversation with the SoundCloud community, reflecting on their journey to date.

Launched in October 2008, SoundCloud was born of the realization that sound is an untapped territory on the Web compared to images, video, and text. The key to SoundCloud’s rapid growth has been the understanding of the simplicity, breadth and potential of sound:

Sound is mobile: Over five million official SoundCloud apps have been downloaded.

Sound is developing: Over 10,000 apps being developed on SoundCloud’s open platform. Recent additions include integrations with professional music creation software Pro Tools and Cakewalk.

Sound is more than music: Over 3.3 million different tags show the breadth of sounds on the platform, which now includes everything from journalists & bloggers (Robert Scoble), to publishing (Penguin Books UK), to education (Stanford).

SoundCloud’s Storywheel showcase can be viewed at this location.

The Dotted Music crew is back from a trip to Berlin, where it was filming a segment of our brand new documentary film. The visit to Germany’s capital, known as a mecca for musicians from all around the world, was extremely fruitful – we brought home interviews with representatives of Universal, Soundcloud, AUPEO!, Tracks & Fields; we talked to musicians like Stewart Walker, Reimut van Bonn and Robert Henke (aka Monolake, he is also one of the founders of Ableton Live!) and spotted some really, really cool things.

We are going to publish selected video teasers and interviews very soon, but meanwhile – check out few photos from the filming process below (more can be found here).

Filming in Berlin

This photo looks funny, but 40th take on the Platz der Republik felt THAT nasty:

The person, without whom this whole trip wasn’t even nearly as fruitful – Gianluigi d’ Autilia (a freelance music writer and supervisor):

We met with Corinna Poeszus, general manager of Universal Publishing Production Music, and filmed her on the roof of Universal’s building (normally, journalists are not allowed there). Corinna is a true music business professional, and just an incredible person.

I think you will love footage from inside Universal Music as well, by the way.

Next to Universal is MTV Studios, and Katya couldn’t miss hugging a huge concrete Sponge Bob behind the building:

Just as I told David Noel, walking out to the Soundcloud’s terrace, I would kill for working in the office like theirs. It is awesome. David was very kind to us, and mentioned lots of insightful thoughts in the interview.

We were fascinated by the AUPEO! company, truth be told. Steffen Holly, the CTO, revealed many interesting details on how this Internet radio operates:

And of course, musicians! From top to bottom: Stewart Walker (electronic music producer, founder of Persona Records); Robert Henke (electronic music project Monolake; one of founders of Ableton Live!, a popular music software); Reimut van Bonn (musician, electronic music producer, works for VUT – German Association of Independent Music Companies).

You can find more photos at this location.

This might be the sickest Dotted Music adventure to date, and I'm inviting you to join us on the ride. Dotted Music started filming a documentary on music business.

This is both an announcement and the beginning of one hell of a long project – an adventure. In fact, this might be the sickest Dotted Music adventure to date, and I’m inviting you to join us on the ride: we are filming a documentary on the music business.

“Ear Pleasing Noise” (the project’s working title) will answer a frequently occurring question found upon Dotted Music and countless other music marketing blogs: how can a musician break through the noise of thousands of similar artists, stand out from the crowd, become irresistible and come to thrive in this tough business?

Preparing for the trip

How can we define the ever-changing music industry of the present? It seems that the future is already upon us, with what advances brought to us by technology and Internet becoming perpetual. There is no present to the present day music industry. So how are musicians to earn a living through music in this ever-changing industry? The traditional methods of selling records, touring, attracting a fan base, or licensing songs seems are increasingly challenged by the immediacy of online services, but it seems equally tempting to forget the dream for good and work in Starbucks?

These are just a few of the questions that are to be asked and answered in this film by record label owners, managers, publishers, promoters, entertainment lawyers, bloggers, creators of online services for musicians, music startup owners, and — I bet you never expected to see them here — the musicians themselves.

The Crew

The crew is awesome. And it consists of two people – my wife, Katya, and me: Andrew Apanov. Katya is the professional TV journalist and a rising film / music videos director, and knows her stuff better than I do. So I establish and conduct the interviews, while she films everything (while telling me how to avoid looking overly stupid on film). There are more people to be involved behind-the-scenes, but I wouldn’t want to tell you too much too soon.

And how is this going to work?

At present the project’s financial needs are supported solely by myself, although I hope this to be a temporary state of affairs! There is no intention to make money with the film, primarily because the cost of production and travel aren’t exactly what you would call low even for a team as small as ours.

Train Kaliningrad-Berlin

Berlin!

After a number of initial interviews in our native Kaliningrad, the trip starts with a trip to Germany’s capital, where technology and culture meet. Actually, the trip is already underway, as I’m writing this on a train to Berlin.

Our goal is to visit iconic European cities with rich music history and developed music business, so there are many exciting places marked on our roadmap.

Come back to the this section of the blog next week for exclusive photos and reports straight from the filming process. I will be revealing the names of the interviewees over here as well. If you want instant access to exclusive Dotted Music in Berlin news, why not check out our Twitter page?

How can you contribute?

Right now I simply ask all Europe-based musicians and businesses to feel free to contact me so we might discuss how you can be involved in the documentary. I’m open to all opportunities, and although I can’t guarantee your inclusion in the documentary, I’m sure we’ll find a way to mutually benefit from this project.

PS: Wherever you are located, please answer this poll’s single question.

Today I am proud to announce that Samuel Agini has joined Dotted Music as an editor and writer! Please welcome Samuel, and let him introduce himself under the photo.

This is Sam

“My name is Samuel Agini, but I do hope that our readers will feel sufficiently at ease to address me as ‘Sam’. As the new editor of Dotted Music, I shall bring my knowledge of the music industry to the blog.

“I suppose my career began a few years ago when I began to write for Ultimate-Guitar.com. My reviews were soon complemented by my monthly column all about “unsigned bands” – bands with no record label affiliation in terms of a contract. The column proved to be a telling baptism into music marketing and PR. Many of the bands would employ different techniques to grab my attention, which inspired my interest in the field.

“When the position of Editor became available at Dotted Music I immediately contacted Andrew at his mystical music marketing base in Kalingrad, where I put forth my desire to join the Dotted Music team.

“In my short time on the earth, I have been a scientifically termed this or that, a student, an army private, and a student again! Now I am set to be an editor, and in this capacity I hope to help Dotted Music realise its potential as the best music blog on the web.”

Sam, welcome!

You can contact Sam at sam.agini@dottedmusic.com or via Twitter

All of this has been covered in each of the individual articles, giving quick tips and brief advice on the best way to handle each piece of the puzzle. If there’s anything you’re not sure on, or wish to brush up on, just go back to the relevant article and review. If you’d like more detail, don’t hesitate to send me a quick e-mail about it.

Let's step back a bit and have some fun this Saturday evening! Here is a video produced by Dotted Music Media, for "Cant Hide" by Alex Prestige, with some photos from the filming process.

Let’s step back from the serious topics a little bit and have some fun this Saturday evening! Today I decided to share with you a video produced by Dotted Music Media, which I actually sent out to the Music On The Dot newsletter subscribers last week. Here I’ll also reveal a pile of photos from the filming process, so scroll down if you have already seen the video.

The experimental clip was shot for a track called “Cant Hide,” written by Alex Prestige – a drum&bass music producer and DJ from Kaliningrad. Directed by my wife, Kathrine, this was first ever music video for her and Dotted Music; so, putting it straight, don’t expect the next Lady Gaga movie masterpiece here. We had next to no budget, besides everything, but it was a really great experience.

Filmed in Alex Prestige’s home town of Kaliningrad, the video for “Can’t Hide” shows a panicked, frenzied rush of fear and adrenaline.

Containing samples from the infamous Saw 7 movie, “Can’t Hide” follows our unnamed hero as he is pursued by a masked menace through a maze of buildings he doesn’t recognize. At first simply confusing, the chase soon becomes desperate.

Few days back we uploaded photos from the video filming process, they can also be viewed here.

Below are few of my favorites:

This little collection will all be dealing with the basics, as well as the more advanced reasoning behind successful marketing of a band, artist or musician.

Hey all, and welcome to another series on the music business, concocted and thrown together by myself; Tom Colohue.

This little collection will all be dealing with the basics, as well as the more advanced reasoning behind successful marketing of a band, artist or musician. It is also information that can be used in any sort of publicised marketing, so please do keep that in mind while reading it. Even if you don’t have a band to advertise, or have never picked up an instrument before, there could still be something of benefit to be found here.

I’ve tried to layer all of the information that follows as laterally as possible, based on success and development in a marketing scenario. As such, the earlier sections deal more with the simple things that can be overlooked when you’re still making a name for yourself, while the latest deal directly with aspects of big business such as making an ideal appeal to a label and handling managers and agents. Some sections might not attract the attention of you, the reader, directly, but I strongly hope that you’ll find something to capture and enrapture you.

This is an introduction and an announcement of the pieces to come, as well as, of course, the contents section. The real meat of the series will begin in the next piece, with ‘Understanding The Target Audience’. It will be a long journey, but all marketing is a long term investment which you will have to spend jumping on top of every opportunity that comes your way. That, when it comes to marketing, is the key focus for any and all. You have to identify chances, then identify ways to capitalise on them. It’s a lot of work, and that’s not something that can be debated, but it makes success in any pursuit that involves people much easier.

Here follows a list of the sections that I will cover, in order from here until the end of the series. I’ll be writing it all out in one giant file and then breaking it up into article length files, so there’s no guarantee that each section will get it’s own article, or that it will all be wrapped neatly together in one article, but I just want to make sure everybody knows what’s coming and what I plan to cover.

Series Introduction

Understanding The Target Audience

Creating A Unique Performance

Establishing A Reputation

Drawing A Crowd

Getting The Name Out There

Creating Your Own Website

Pros And Cons Of The Dirty Image

Managers And Agents

Interest Through Release

Avoiding The Sell Out Label

Series Conclusion

And so, with only the most basic of introductory messages, let’s get started on the simplicities of marketing methods. I hope that you enjoy, and learn as much as you can from it.

In this interview for the Omega's Apple website, Dotted Music founder Andrew Apanov talks on the blog's and Ultimate-Guitar.com's current and future developments, his past musical career, and things that aspiring musicians can learn from bloggers.

And here I am again! In this interview for Omega’s Apple (the site has covered lots of great writers, check out its interviews archive), Anthony Morgan talked with me on the current and future developments of Dotted Music and Ultimate Guitar, my past musical career (there were lots of fun stuff to remember), and things that aspiring musicians can learn from bloggers.

Read several excerpts below. I included few general Dotted Music-related parts so the new readers can become more familiar with what this website is all about.

Omega’s Apple: Personally, how would you describe what Dotted Music covers exactly?

Andrew Apanov: Dotted Music is heavily centred around music marketing, services for musicians, and general music biz news. What I try to cover more extensively right now is a variety of new technologies meeting musicians’ needs. And in the long run, this blog is all about inspiration. Each writer on this blog tries to give readers a few bits of inspiration each week, bits that can help boosting your music career at least slightly. Dotted Music can’t help to solve all problems of a struggling musician (no one can), but it is aimed to help musicians to move in the right direction instead. Fortunately, everything above fits the original Dotted Music motto, “Living music in the digital age.”

Andrew Apanov

Dotted Music seemingly has a focus on how the digital age has affected music, and the ways in which labels and bands are or are not adapting. How is Dotted Music incorporating new mediums in which to promote itself, and experimenting with new things? Surely it’s difficult to get noticed?

Marketing and managing a blog is an exciting and difficult adventure on its own, that’s for sure. I use social media actively and push the blog in various ways, but overall – will be sincere – I can and will do a way better job here.

A blog, just like a band, has to be treated as a business. I often find a lot of inspiration and great ideas applicable to music marketing in blogs about blogging. General internet marketing rules work for everyone on the Web. Vice versa, if you are a musician – go read Problogger or Copyblogger to find useful ideas and sharpen your writing skills. Have I mentioned that I believe that all musicians have to blog a priority?

Being involved in the music industry, has being located in Russia presented you with any difficulties in progressing throughout your career?

Living where I live has its pros and cons, but I tend to see mostly cons, ha! Kaliningrad is very nice and cosy, but there are not too many places to go out – and just being at the same town most of the time can be pretty tiring. I would be much happier with the place if I and my wife could travel more.

On a positive side, hell – I am in Russia, so everything could be way worse! I’m very lucky with where exactly I am located. Geographically, Kaliningrad is in the middle of Eastern Europe, and it doesn’t even have any direct connection with the “big” Russia. Plus, I think it’s a blessing if you live here and own business operations outside the country. Compared to most European countries or the US, life is relatively cheap over here.

What new developments can readers expect at Ultimate-Guitar.com, and also, will these new developments give you any extra responsibilities?

Oh man, there are so many things happening right now. We’ve been in a very difficult licensing process with music publishers during the last few years, and by now have signed contracts with all major publishers, which is absolutely unique for a tablature website. The Ultimate Guitar Tabs mobile application is doing very well, and we just released an Android version to accompany the iPhone one. An iPad app is coming very shortly, too. In March we announced a venture deal with Slash, and as part of that deal we are hosting his official website, built and maintained on our side. There was even a very special branded edition of Arcade Rocker iPhone app released in the summer.

And around February or March Ultimate Guitar will present users something totally fresh. I believe any guitarist will love what we’ve prepared. This is a big step for UG, and more details are to follow soon. The company as a whole is at a very important stage of its life cycle. We are getting seriously big, and I’m really happy to grow alongside it.

Ever wanted to call your favorite (most hated?) artist, listen to his or her voice talking to you and leave him (or her) a very personalized, sincere message? There is a service for that, and it can do much more.

Ever wanted to call your favorite (most hated?) artist, listen to his or her voice talking to you and leave him (or her) a very personalized, sincere message? There is a service for that, and it can do much more.

Originally, I wanted to keep an intro part for this article longer and more informative, but after conducting an interview with TheLiveLine‘s Director of Business Development Scott Holmen and Marketing Assistant Alex Gilbert, I understood that the guys spoke for themselves in full.

Start out by visiting the Dotted Music page on TheLiveLine (you can leave me a voice message by calling (702) 967-9028) and read on to know how you can benefit from the service, currently in Beta. The chat has been long, but it’s worth reading.

TheLiveLine

Andrew Apanov: Can you describe TheLiveLine in few sentences to those users, who are not familiar with the service yet?

Scott Holmen: TheLiveLine has created a place for fans to engage in two-way conversation with their favorite artists. This can be via web or phone, live conversations or messages.

Alex Gilbert: What makes TheLiveLine more interactive from others is for fans being able to call their favorite artists, and hear everything in the artist’s actual voice. Our users love this feature. You can leave them voice messages, and they may even respond to you. On the other side, our artists also love being able to hear their fans in their own voices, too.

How was it created and how long have it been around? Why the mobile accent?

Scott: It was created by integrating mobile with social website. On Twitter, it is cool to read what your favorite artists are typing but on TheLiveLine you can actually listen to their voice giving you updates, news or just rambling about their day. The audio component is what really makes us better than many other social sites.

Alex: TheLiveLine has been around for about 3 years. The mobile accent is key in our business model, as we know that technology exponentially increases. EVERYONE has a mobile phone that’s more than likely equipped to them 24/7, everyone is quick to grab it for business and leisure purposes and with TheLiveLine incorporating both voice and text, we can offer much more than just the simple webpage.

Is the service aimed toward a particular industry, like music, or do you try to cover lots of different entertainment fields at once?

Scott: We have built our Beta mode mainly around music but we intend for TheLiveLine to be a service in professional sports, acting, and other industries where fans want to connect with the major players in those industries.

Alex: I believe in business as a whole, everything is connected. We definitely go for the big picture with music, entertainment, and more. I mean, stylistically, you’ve got those crossover points. For example, metal and MMA fit together naturally, as well as on the other side of the ring with TV and internet. While we (like any individual) have our own personal preferences, TheLiveLine is a full force entertainment atmosphere. We want to make EVERYONE happy.

For example, the Vans Warped Tour – a tour that’s easily made its way into music culture. But if the Vans Warped Tour only had bands that YOU like, who else would go? You’ve got to have a variety, as well as those crossover points. The Vans Warped Tour also adds much more than music, giving it the “more than just a concert” feel. We do the same. All the time you see fans of [insert genre here] who find new music they end up falling in love with. We sort of create a gateway where you may discover something you’ll end up falling in love with, plus we have the mobile aspect for you to dig into.

Audience from what industry shows itself as the most active and supportive one, though?

Scott: We have started with a strong offering in Heavy Metal and have found that the fans are insanely fanatical and the artists are truly wanting to connect with their fans. The Heavy Metal community has proven to be a great genre for us to run our BETA in. They are MORE than willing to give us their thoughts on what is working and what needs help. I am grateful to them for helping us out so much.

Alex: We do want all the audience we can get, but if you go to TheLiveLine, you’ll see we have a ton of heavy metal. We love metal, we’re metalheads, and not trying to be pigeonholed as “that metal website”, but as that’s the majority of what we have, and I’ll agree and say our metal users are the most active and supportive. But whatever kind of music you like, come visit TheLiveLine, and I’m sure you’ll find something that you can like!

How important is the social networking ingredient of the service?

Scott Holmen

Scott:The social network component is critical for several reasons. People want social. This has been proven many times over by MySpace, Facebook and other sites. Since people want “social” they are used to it. It isn’t a huge leap to go from Facebook to TheLiveLine. Many of the features are similar and navigation is familiar to anybody who has been on other social sites. If users want social and are used to it why wouldn’t we incorporate it. The cool thing is that part of that Social experience can involve conversations with artists that are otherwise difficult, if not, impossible to connect with.Alex: Social networking is always important. Everyone does it now, it’s a daily habit, and though it seems most prominent in our younger generation, the Mom’s and Dad’s are social networking like crazy, too. TheLiveLine has our own Facebook pages, Twitter, MySpace, and social networking sites of that nature as well, and social networks aren’t just valuable for socializing, but also very important for business, especially in this digital age. In regards to TheLiveLine and our social networking, like Scott mentioned it’s the mobile aspect and actually being able to feel close with your favorite artists.

Please tell me about the most interesting and prominent events happened on TheLiveLine. Who have you worked with?

Scott: TheLiveLine ran a voting campaign to pick Megadeth’s set list for the Golden Gods awards. This was a really fun campaign because the fans were anxious to give us their input, the band was anxious to give the fans what they wanted and TheLiveLine had the perfect platform to facilitate this vote. We have also run several contests and always get a kick out of sending a brand new autographed guitar, or other merch, to a fan that has entered a contest.

Alex: I think all of our events are interesting, so I’d have to say working for TheLiveLine as a whole and being an all around business man is definitely prominent. There’s a lot more “behind the scenes” action than one would think. We work with a ton of different people ranging from artists, celebrities, record labels, PR agencies, advertisers, corporations, you name it. The events Scott mentioned are definitely big, and some others I can add was our Tantric, Adema, Burn Halo tour we sponsored and powered mobile for, The Ultimate Testament Karaoke Contest we’re running with Ultimate-Guitar and Dean Guitars has a killer concept and is a total blast, and even bringing on some TV celebrities like Lacey Conner from Vh1: Rock Of Love is very interesting. We are also regular dudes as well. Business trips for events down in Los Angeles are always a blast, as well as lunches / coffees with Fearless Records in Huntington Beach.

How can this service practically help musicians in their careers and marketing campaigns in particular?

Scott: We are passionate about helping the “up and comers”. We are able to get an understanding of which types of music any given fan enjoys. Fans also let us know what geographic they are in. With this information we are able to tell a fan, “Hey if you like Anthrax you should go check out XYZ band at XYZ location on Friday at 7pm”. This helps raise awareness for the up and comers and introduces fans to new music that they can support. We can also do text, voice and email blasts on behalf of our artists announcing album releases, tour dates, etc.

Alex: With our business model, musicians can actually monetize, but thinking realistically a lot really depends on a) that musician’s credibility, and b) how proactive they are in their project(s) and with their profile at TheLiveLine. People really need to know that TheLiveLine is much more than just a website, and that we are a business doing MUCH more than just building up a website. A big part of the monetization is obviously advertising, but it’s the unique channels of advertising that we offer besides the typical web banner.

These being SMS ad tags (an SMS text is 160 characters, a lot of the time we’ll save 40 characters for an ad tag that stylistically matches what’s being promoted), and IVR (integrated voice response) advertising, which at the end of hearing an artist’s voice message, you may hear a quick voice advertisement for guitars, again it’d be something that would stylistically match up. We’re not going to slap on a Barbie doll ad with our metal artists, haha! The best that can happen for an artist is that they’ll make some money alongside all of TheLiveLine’s services and capabilities we offer them. The worst that can happen is a ton of free promotion. It’s really a win-win situation.

In regards to marketing campaigns, it’s pretty unique to be able to add a phoneline as an extra channel of promotion. Everytime an artist updates their AudioBlog (same as voice message), an SMS text message goes out to all their opted in fans on the site, alerting them so-said artist has recorded a new AudioBlog. The immediacy of texting is key – the average email is opened in 48 hours, the average text is opened in 4 minutes. Any last minute show changes, cancelations, a great idea that’s burning in the artist’s head, or literally whatever, they can immediately tap their fanbase and receive response, versus an email newsletter that may never reach the fan in time, Facebook comment, etc. I know for all those on-the-go guys it’s tricky to be by a computer at times, but they’ve always got their cell phone on them.

I know that TheLiveLine has been used on tours, please tell me a bit about such partnerships and on how the live scene can benefit from you.

Scott: TheLiveLine can be used for a few different aspects of touring. One example is simply to enhance the event for the fans. So, inbetween sets when there is some down time, we might have a poll on the screen like, “What is your favorite Soulfly album ever”? this keeps the fans entertained. We can also reply to their entries with a discount code for merch or concessions at that show. This gives the fan some savings and drives sales for the venue of merch and concessions. We can also engage fans with the interest of building a larger database or “mobile fan club” for the artists. So at the show we may project “To enter the Testament mobile fan club text CHUCK to 12345″. This will give the artist the fans phone number so that they can keep the fan updated on what is going on with tour dates, album releases, etc. on an ongoing basis, after the show.

Alex: Yeah, we recently sponsored the Tantric, Adema, and Burn Halo tour where fans could text in to receive exclusive tour info and deals. For the tour as a whole, in-venue mobile was a big factor. We did a “Text NOW1, NOW2, etc.” to receive a digital coupon in the form of a bounceback text message (say 10% off of merch JUST for tonight), as NOW is the key idea. Of course we had to make different NOW keywords since some venues take a merch cut for the night, so we make sure everything was fair between artists and management. With building a mobile database like that, for next time around we can geo-target, so a kid in Kentucky will get the most relevant info with upcoming Kentucky shows for Band X, in store appearances, as will a kid in Nebraska getting all relevant info closest to his/her location. We don’t want to be texting the kid in Kentucky show info in Nebraska, and vice versa. Our technology is extremely dynamic, has incredible analytics, and is really amazing.

TheLiveLine itself is the perfect touring tool. You literally only need a cell phone to update your AudioBlog, which that then syncs directly to the web. I know how hard it is to get internet access on the road, and TheLiveLine has proven a great tool to promote, again with the aforementioned immediacy.

If you have an inquiry for tour sponsorship via TheLiveLine, we’d love to hear from you. Hit up the contact page on our site.

Are there any other interesting companies you have partnered with?

Scott: We have connected with several brands that are a part of the music industry or associated with the music industry. It has been a pleasure to work with ESP Guitars and Dean Guitars as well as ARK Films on multiple creative projects.

Alex: The one’s Scott mentioned are great companies, and equally great people! I personally love being in touch daily with the labels and PR agencies we partner with. It’s always a pleasure working with Candlelight Records, Prosthetic Records, Bullet Tooth, Fresno Media, Pop Music Live, and many, many more. I’m on the phone for a good majority of my day (and love it), and anyone in the office knows my obsession for the always delicious Klondike ice cream bars. I always seem to smoothly sneak that in my business calls with the people I get to know more on a personal level (especially since they now have Reese’s flavored ones, hell yeah!), and turns out everyone shares my love for Klondikes.

If there’s one thing that the whole world loves and cannot hate, it’s got to be those Klondike bars. Do you like them, Andrew? We are also in touch with some other potential partners, as we are always looking to expand.

Damn, we don’t have these Klondike bars over here :( Is the service limited to territory geographically?

Scott: No, service is available internationally.

Alex: Anyone can use TheLiveLine, from both a fan and an artist talent perspective. It’s basically free to call any artist, which is definitely one of our top 3 FAQs. The only cost that would occur is between the individual and their carrier, so if you don’t have unlimited minutes, text, whatever else on your phone plan, it’s going to cost the same amount as if you were to call / text anybody else.

What can you say about “TheLiveLine 2.0″, which is in the work according to the website?

Scott: TLL 2.0 will have many of the same features as our current version and MANY more features. More content on the web and more features via mobile. You will have to check it out when we release it but don’t be surprised if you call your favorite artists “AudioBlog” and they actually pick up the phone to talk to you.

Alex: TheLiveLine 2.0 is still a work in progress. There are plenty of ideas for expansion, as well as possible premium packages.

Any other huge features going to be implemented soon, or any big events that you can reveal?

Alex: We do have plenty of features and big events in the pipeline. I can’t reveal too much at the moment, but I can promise we are expanding fast, and many are taking notice on both a general public and business level.

Thanks for the interview. Stay tuned to TheLiveLine!
