A New Music Crowdsourcing Platform From The Music Licensing Directory
TThe Music Licensing Directory, a music licensing marketplace and resource, this week launched a music crowdsourcing service where Music Supervisors, Advertising Agencies, Production Companies and Individuals who need music for any purpose can launch a contest to find music to license.
The platform allows anyone to access the global community of artists, bands, labels, publishers, producers and composers, built by The Music Licensing Directory since its launch in December last year.

The submission process, as described on the website
Crowdsourcing of music has traditionally been plagued by complexity and a lack of confidentiality, so appearance of a new service addressing these issues is, of course, a good thing.
According to the press release, “the crowdsourcing process caters to projects big and small with varying budgets and for many different purposes.” The service is free, with no commitment or obligation — users only pay license fees if they are satisfied with the submitted tracks. To submit the music, however, you will need a yearly subscription to the Music Licensing Directory, which currently costs $99.
More information on launching a crowdsourcing contest can be found at this location.
